Privacy
Short, because there is little to say.
What we collect
If you join the Doghobble Magazine waitlist, we keep your email address, your name if you give it, and whether you also asked forLetters from Southern Appalachia. With it we keep a few notes on how you found the list: the page you signed up on and the page before it, the first page you arrived on, a broad description of how you arrived (search, Instagram, another site, or directly), and any campaign tags in the link you followed. We do not record your IP address. We do not run advertising trackers, and we do not sell or share the list.
In your browser
To make those notes, the site keeps a small record in your browser's local storage: how you first arrived, and the previous page you read here. It is not a cookie, it stays on your device, and it is sent only if you submit the waitlist form. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.
Counting readers
When the Magazine page is opened, and when someone joins the list, the site counts it anonymously with Cloudflare, together with the same broad arrival description and page paths. These counts carry no email address, IP address or other identifier.
Where it is kept
Addresses are stored with Loops, the email service we use to send the list, under their own privacy terms. The site itself is hosted on Cloudflare, which keeps ordinary server logs for security and performance.
Leaving
Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link, and the waitlist and the letters can be left separately. You can also write to hello@doghobblemag.com to be removed or to ask what we hold.
Photographs and links
Photographs are served from the Unsplash content network, which may record ordinary request data. Links to other sites are governed by those sites.
